BEHIND THE SCENES WITH SOFT PHENOMENA
Music for Life
This site was originally created to promote the various cover songs that John Bygrave and Larry Day (and occasionally featuring to the glorious vocal talents of Annabel), recording under the working name of "Soft Phenomena".
Soft Phenomena is the name of the band that John and Larry played in during the late 1970s and early 1980s along with Stan Burton on drums and John Nobbs on Rhythm Guitar. (If anyone has any old photos of the band I will try to get them published here as well along with any other memories.)
The songs we are recording are all cover songs and not genre specific. We take turns in coming up with ideas for songs we think we will enjoy recording just anything we fancy having a go at. At heart we actually have different musical tastes, but this we consider to be a strength!
For more information on our history, and our recording process, see our 'Bio' page and blog posts.
Of late we have been playing together with the original drummer Stan Burton and Richard Styles on Rhythm and are doing a few select gigs. It is odd but fun to be able to recreate some of experiences we had when playing live over 44 years ago.
